How do I fill a Candlerock with oil?

Where can I get oil for a Candlerock?

What kind of rock is it?

These colors look alike to me. What is going on?

How much is shipping?

Can I choose a particular Candlerock?

How heavy are they?

What happens if I need to replace a wick?

Do they leak?

Each candlerock comes with a small funnel. To fill, just pull out all of the wicks, insert the funnel, and gently fill to about 1/2 inch of the brim of the glass bowl. If you are filling a single wick candlerock, you may need to lift the funnel up just a little bit to allow the displaced air to escape as the oil enters the oil chamber.

The oil used in candlerocks is common lamp oil, available at any department store (Kmart, WalMart, etc). If you wish us to send you some oil, we would be happy to. Please add $3.00 to your order.

Remember, the colors are MOSTLY tan or MOSTLY grey. They are all from the same quarry, and the colors come from the natural inclusions in the stone. If you were to split a stone of one color, you may find a stone of the different color within. But please... do not split them, they are perfect as they are!

Due to the incredible number of variations between these particular candlerocks, there is no way we can possibly pick out a particular rock for any one customer. We are lucky to be able to pick out two colors. For sizing purposes, if you want a smaller stone, the single wick is the way to go, for a larger, more dramatic stone, a triple wick is best.

Candlerock's weights vary dramatically. Generally speaking, the smaller rocks are made into single wicks, the middle rocks into double wicks, and the larger rocks into triple wicks and bamboo rocks. Thicknesses also vary widely, so a rock with a smaller top face may be thicker overall, and weigh the same (or more!) than one with a larger face. Single wicks are approximately 3-8 pounds; Double wicks are approximately 5-10 pounds; and Triple wicks are approximately 6-12 pounds.

Your candlerock wick is fiberglass, and should never need to be replaced. However, if it should for any reason, pull it out, slip off the glass collar, put it on the new wick, and reinsert.

No. Each bowl is sealed to the rock with the same kind of clear silicone used to put together houses and aircraft. It is applied as a sticky gel about the consistency of toothpaste that gets into every space, then sets. Each one is then tested with compressed air to ensure a solid seal.
